The event builder maintains an idea of what the oldest timestamp is. This allows it to detect and complain about data which received late, and will therefore be emitted out of order, as well as to provide that information to the statistics displays.
It is strongly recommended that this only be called when the event builder has become quiescent. That is after the run has ended.
